When thinking of life in the Territory, there are a few images that spring to mind: the tropical climate, vast and beautiful landscapes, and the fishing. Recently the NT Government announced a new fishing spot locally known as “50k Hole” opening near Katherine, thanks to a $100,000 grant. View the media release.

Thinking about taking advantage of this new, and somewhat touched fishing adventure? Why not make it an adventurous get-away and check out one of our many accommodation options? We offer well-shaded campgrounds with all the amenities, one and two bedroom chalets, and of course our luxury-boutique Cicada Lodge.

If the fish aren’t biting at 50k Hole, Nitmiluk Gorge also has fishing options for enthusiasts to come and have a go. Normal barramundi fishing controls apply. No bait fishing is permitted, lure fishing only. Common species of fish found in the gorge are Black Bream (Sooty Grunter), Barramundi, Bream, Mullet and Catfish.

While you’re at the Nitmliuk Gorge you can also explore the many different tour options we provide for individuals on an adventure, families, and even some for the elderly. Our friendly staff are on hand to ensure that you enjoy your Nitmiluk experience.
