Overview

Your local Jawoyn tour guides will share stories of their lives and carry on the legacy of their ancestors and forefathers. Discover firsthand knowledge of the region and unique cultural traditions of the Jawoyn people.

A maximum group size of 15 ensures that your group is intimate and allows you to ask questions of your knowledgeable guide along the way.

Cruise along the first gorge, stopping along the way to learn about the geology, geography, rock art, bush medicine and cultural traditions distinct to this region.

Have a hands-on authentic cultural experience such as spear throwing, didgeridoo playing or basket weaving. Inclusions for each tour will depend on the gender of your guide.

Subject to river levels, you may have the opportunity to enjoy a refreshing swim in one of the many rock holes.

  • Minimum of 4 passengers required to run
  • Maximum of 15 passengers permitted per tour

  • Children aged 6-15 years = child rate
  • Adults aged 16 years and over = adult rate
  • Some walking is required so a level of mobility and fitness is required
  • Toilet facilities are available onboard the vessels but are limited so we do advise using the bathroom before joining the tour.
  • No change rooms are available so we recommend wearing your swimsuit under your clothing
  • Boarding is 15 minutes prior to departure at the Nitmiluk Boat Jetty
