Formed millions of years ago, the Cutta Cutta Caves system is home to a variety of native wildlife and has a rich Indigenous culture and modern European history.

Located 27Km South of Katherine, Cutta Cutta Caves Nature Park covers 1499 hectares of natural limestone landscape. Home to five species of bats, including the rare Ghost and Horseshoe bats and around 170 species of birds, including the Hooded Parrot and the endangered Gouldian Finch, it’s a wildlife lover’s paradise.

Open seasonally from April until the end of October (subject to weather conditions), the park includes a Visitor Centre, kiosk, Tropical Woodland walk and an abundance of information for visitors about the local flora and fauna.

  • Entrance to Cutta Cutta Caves Nature Park
  • Guided tour of the Cave system

  • Closed-in shoes are mandatory – no thongs/jandles/flip flops, crocs, sandals or hiking sandals permitted

The Cutta Cutta Cave is a tropical cave system so it is humid inside, you will not need to wear layers of clothing for this tour. If you suffer from asthma, please bring your inhaler.

Great nature experience

Great look back into the wonders of nature and the fantastic geology of the area and how fauna have adapted over the millennia to live in caves hundreds of thousands of years old only affected by man in the last 100.
